Have you ever really loved someone ?
What is love ? Is it really just to be able to be with the person you love ?
Ever experienced unrequited love? I always thought and believed that love can never die a slow death eventually. But does it ? What if we felt a love so strong that it stays alive in your heart, forever.
Sometimes love could also turn to hurt, come out in anger and appear like hate. If & when that happens, would it mean that it's hate ? or is it the reverse - love in its purest form?
This brings me to the thought of transcendental love. An experience that is so strong that it goes beyond the range of usual/ normal. It defies the norms & is so esoteric in it's existence, that, perhaps could only be understood by the people experiencing it.
Let's take the context of the recent movie - Kabir Singh. General verdict is that the behaviour portrayed is extremely male chauvinistic. Not condoning the act of violence, don't get me wrong. It is a thought that makes me shudder. But, the movie is all about the journey of a couple. It's not just the protagonist's story alone . When he calls her, she listens. When she misses him, she goes to see him - no questions asked. She is as much in it as he is.
And this brings me to the scene where he hits her - the act itself is not okay, but, think about what was the essence that was trying to be communicated in a span of 3 hours. I just think that perhaps, he knew that he is hers and she knew that she is his, but, the angst of not being able to be together or maybe just the idea that they may not end up together, caused so much agony that he gave in.
They are in a relationship and when two people are in a relationship, only they know the dynamics and the equation. A bystander cannot look at one incident and judge.
And that is why I don't find the character - Kabir Singh - flawed. He is reckless, yes. But imagine if one was to have love like this - all consuming. Sigh.
I believe that love like this exists and if some of us haven't experienced it - it is perhaps immature to completely reject the idea of it's existence.
Who knows what the future holds, as they say, there is always a first time & a right time for the right things. Till then, let's not judge a character, because, (it is true) we can't understand the dynamics between two people as bystanders. We can, I agree, to an extent. But, the complete picture is only meant to be understood by two people who are in it.
Love for me is "Ever thine, ever mine, ever ours". <3 br="" nbsp="">3>
